Amal Clooney is an activist, author and lawyer who specializes in international law and human rights. She has worked on numerous international disputes, like the Cambodian-Thai border dispute, and represented notable individuals such as former prime minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko and Egyptian-Canadian journalist Mohamed Fahmy. Clooney will be discussing her work and relevant global issues during her appearance.
“Amal Clooney is a crazy-amazing human rights attorney,” said sophomore Anna Kelly, a student intern for the Bryan Series. “She has been everywhere. She has defended (the founder of) WikiLeaks, among other people.”

**For someone who has been at the UN so many times you would think such a smart lawyer would know how to be diplomatic and not upset an Ambassador. But she doesnt that is what happens when your more a reasercher then an actual lawyer who has spent a lot of time fighting in an actual court. Just because your last name is Clooney no one is going to bend over backwards for you. Doing proper research and to be non combative is 101. Amal deserves all the flack she is getting and maybe she should leave that sort of thing with someone who knows what they are doing and not almost cause a political incident.
